If you can’t tell by the amount of animal graphics I post, I’m a huge animal advocate. The counter included on my page is one I just recently started for the animal shelter close to me. As of recently, they had to put down over 100 animals due to lack of funding, lack of space, lack of everything. Over a 100 INNOCENT animals. The volunteers tried their hardest, even with their attempts they only managed to save a few before the act was done. This shelter used to afford huge, multiple bags of dog food, cat food, and now they can barely afford one. Kittens, puppies, dogs, cats, they were all put to sleep because they have NO money. All I’m asking is a dollar out of your pocket.

In his five short weeks of life, Orbit hasn’t met many other owls. So he isn’t at all worried that his new best friend doesn’t hoot back. The orphaned chick is perfectly content in the company of the stuffed bird perched next to him and is never far from his side. Orbit, a common barn owl, was given the toy by Lyndsey Wood, his carer at Folly Farm, near Narberth in West Wales. She said: ‘A friend suggested that I find something like a toy owl to stop Orbit feeling lonely. I thought he might try to eat it, but he just cuddles up to it and goes to sleep.’
